About us

Compliance software an auditor would recognise

Cornerstone GRC, LLC builds the system of record for compliance programmes. Not a readiness checklist that produces a percentage nobody trusts — a control environment designed around how an audit is actually conducted.

Why we exist

Compliance kept in a dozen places

Controls live in one spreadsheet, evidence in a shared drive, the risk register in another workbook, and policy acknowledgements in an email thread. Each is maintained by someone different, and none of them agree by the time an audit starts.

So compliance becomes seasonal. Evidence is gathered in a three-week scramble, screenshots are re-taken because the originals expired, and the same control is documented three times because three frameworks ask for it.

None of that is a discipline problem. It is a tooling problem — one control environment, scattered across systems that were never meant to hold it.

What we built

One foundation, held all year

Cornerstone keeps the whole control environment in one system — controls and their owners, the evidence behind them, the risks they mitigate, the policies people acknowledged, and the vendors you depend on.

Each control maps to the criteria it satisfies, across every framework at once. Readiness is reported per criterion, so an unsatisfied requirement is visible months before an auditor finds it rather than the week they arrive.

And when the audit does come, your firm can work directly against that environment — optionally in our Audit Workspace add-on — instead of asking you to export it.

How we build

Principles behind the product

These are design commitments, visible in how the software behaves.

One control, every framework

A control is a single record that can satisfy criteria across SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA at once. Maintaining the same safeguard in three places, with three sets of evidence, is the failure mode we set out to remove.

Encode the methodology

Sign-off follows preparer and reviewer roles. Segregation of duties is enforced rather than suggested. Only signed-off work reaches a report. If a professional standard governs the work, the software should reflect it.

Separation you can verify

When your audit firm works in our optional add-on, the boundary between your data and their working papers is structural — not a promise in a contract. Their conclusions never write back into your environment.

Show the gaps

A criterion nothing covers is displayed as an explicit gap, not averaged into a readiness score. Unresolved fields in a draft report are listed rather than left blank. Comfortable numbers that hide problems are worse than useless.
